SheetCity – Terms of Service

Last revised: 1 August 2026

By installing or using a SheetCity add-on (including Select Special Cells), you agree to these terms. They apply to all SheetCity add-ons and software (“products”) unless a specific product’s page states otherwise.

1. Use of our products

Our products are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Each product’s functionality is described on its own product page. Select Special Cells, for example, works inside Google Sheets to help you select cells by type — blanks, formulas, duplicates, and others.

You agree to use our products only for lawful purposes, and not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, usage limits, or security measures;
  • resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute a product or licence key;
  • use automated means to call our functions outside normal use of the product interface;
  • interfere with or disrupt the product, our infrastructure, or other users.

2. Free and paid tiers

Products may offer a Free tier and an optional paid Pro tier. What each tier includes is described on the product’s own page and may change as products evolve.

For Select Special Cells:

  • Free: selection by blank, formula, duplicate, and other cell types.
  • Pro: advanced workflows, unlocked with a one-time licence purchased through Gumroad.

We may change the features included in each tier. If a change materially removes functionality you have already paid for, we will honour your existing entitlement or offer a refund.

3. Licences

Each licence is for one person and activates on one Google account.

When you activate a licence key, it becomes tied to the Google account you activated it with. Attempting to activate the same key on a different Google account will be refused. You can move a licence yourself: deactivate it from within the product first, then activate it on the account you want to use. If you have lost access to the original account, contact support and we will release it for you.

Licence keys must not be shared, resold, published, or redistributed. Doing so is a breach of these terms and may result in the licence being terminated without refund.

Multi-user, team, and enterprise licensing is available on request.

4. What we store when you activate a licence

To operate licensing, we store the following using Google Apps Script’s Properties Service:

  • Your licence key, retained so we can re-verify it with Gumroad and enforce the one-account rule described in §3.
  • The email address associated with your purchase, returned to us by Gumroad during verification.
  • The date and time of verification, and the licence type.
  • A service-wide record linking your licence key to the Google account that activated it. This is the mechanism that prevents a key being used on multiple accounts. It is stored at the service level rather than within your own account’s data, because its purpose is to detect reuse across different accounts.

Deactivating your licence from within the product removes all of the above, including the service-wide record, which is what allows you to reactivate on another account.

We never log your licence key in plain text and never send it to the browser.

5. Data processing

Our products operate only within the Google Sheets™ document where you are actively using them.

Spreadsheet content is read to perform the operation you requested and is processed in memory during that operation. We do not store it, transmit it to our own servers, or share it with third parties. We do not use your spreadsheet content to train models or for advertising or profiling.

We use third-party services for payment processing (Gumroad) and anonymised product analytics. Our Privacy Policy describes these in full, including what is collected and how to request deletion.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any product at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation.

Our products depend on Google Workspace and on third-party services including Gumroad. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or failures in those services.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone breaching these terms. Where a paid licence is terminated for a breach, no refund is due.

7. Limitation of liability

Please read this section carefully — it limits what we can be held responsible for.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss of data, corruption of data, unintended changes to spreadsheets, loss of profits, loss of business, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, our products.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you actually paid us for that product in the twelve months before the claim arose. For free-tier users, that amount is zero.

Our products modify spreadsheets. You are responsible for reviewing changes before applying them to important data, and for keeping your own backups. Google Sheets maintains version history, and we strongly recommend relying on it. Most operations can be reversed with Undo immediately after they run.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India).

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SheetCity from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of a product in breach of these terms or in violation of any law or third-party right.

9. Refunds

Paid products are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: a 30-day money-back guarantee, with exceptions for substantial completed use, repeat purchase-and-refund cycles, and licence sharing. See the full Refund Policy for details.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our products change. When we make material changes we will update the “last revised” date above. Continuing to use a product after that constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

If you do not accept a change, stop using the products. If a change materially disadvantages you within 30 days of a paid purchase, contact us and we will refund you.

11. Trademarks

Google Sheets™ and Google Workspace™ are trademarks of Google LLC. SheetCity products are independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at support@sheetcity.com. Almost everything can be resolved by email.

13. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force, and the unenforceable provision is modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and SheetCity regarding the products.
